Susquehanna University Enactus Projects

Supporting Our Veterans

The Supporting Our Veterans project is a revitalized initiative by the Susquehanna Enactus team to address two areas of need. First, we are working to cultivate a community between active and inactive military on campus and those in our local community of Selinsgrove and the greater Snyder County. Second, we are dedicated to improving the lives of veterans who experience mental and physical disabilities, as well as homelessness.

Our project hopes to hold workshops with local veterans facing the above-mentioned circumstances. We also plan to fundraise to support the community goal of buying a farm where homeless veterans can seek shelter and earn room, board, and employment by participating in farm operations. This initiative would enable veterans to better their livelihoods through work that is both sustainable and meaningful.

On November 4, 2017, the project sponsored the Susquehanna University Varsity Football game played at Susquehanna in honor of Veterans' Day on November 11, 2017. Military members were honored on field during the National Anthem and project members hosted the partner organization Rally Point Inc., who shared information with game attendees to increase awareness of veteran needs in the community.
